For the last ten years, Kenia has helped credit unions grow and remain relevant by reaching underserved markets. From facilitating strategic growth planning to overseeing implementation, she has been instrumental in expanding financial access to immigrant and refugee communities.
A native of El Salvador, Kenia has been a tireless advocate for immigrant communities and their financial well-being. At Seattle Credit Union, she is leading the market expansion and community impact efforts across Washinton State. During her tenure at GreenState Credit Union, Kenia led efforts to grow membership among immigrant and refugee consumers across its footprint. As a consultant, she worked closely with credit union leadership teams, guiding them through strategic planning processes and serving as a trusted advisor. Her expertise in compliant financial inclusion programs and market expansion has helped financial institutions better serve diverse communities.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from Drake University and has been recognized for her leadership with multiple awards, including Credit Union Times' 2022 Rising Star and Des Moines Business Record’s 40 Under 40.
